Southwest Shooting Authority offers professional firearms training in a variety of disciplines and experience levels. Defensive Handgun I, II and III, Applied Dynamic Responses and a Multi-State Concealed Weapons class make up our 4-course handgun series in our local training area. However, because of the time required to take these classes and the distance and expense of traveling, sometimes it is not feasible to consider attending our local training. Our Mobile Training Unit can now take our affordable, practical, defensive handgun series anywhere.

Rifle and shotgun classes will be available for travel be the spring of 2009.

While the Multi-State Concealed Weapons class and Defensive Handgun I, II and III normally take a full 5 days, we offer a consolidated version of the 4 classes via our Mobile Training Unit that is shorter and substantially less expensive considering your savings in travel and lodging costs.

Firearms laws, justification in the use of lethal force, situational awareness, resolving disputes and criminal and civil liability are a few of the crucial lecture topics. Later in the class we’ll provide an in-depth look at the shooting fundamentals and how to achieve consistent, pinpoint accuracy. You’ll then move into trigger-control, recoil management and accuracy drills and progress into lightning-fast presentations from the holster, malfunction clearing, reloading and much, much more including failure-to-stop drills, engaging multiple assailants and some long-range handgun shooting. About half of the class will be performed from a concealment holster. This 3-day class does not include a night shoot or training in our shoot-house but enough props are provided to learn the basics of room entry and other tactics.

Our mobile class will involve a lot of shooting with a total of 1000 rounds being expended. Your speed, accuracy and total confidence with your weapon will exceed your highest expectations and your friends will marvel at your new-found skills.

You can save the costs of lodging, fuel and 4-5 days of your time by taking this consolidated mobile class, and you can get all the training benefits of the series in 3 days for the low price $795.00!!  You’ll sacrifice nothing in quality simply because the time saved is due to only having to sit through all the lectures and classroom topics one time.

An added benefit of the mobile class is that our training meets or exceeds ALL the requirements of the States of New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, Wyoming, Utah and others for you to obtain a concealed weapons permit. You can also re-new some existing permits. We provide applications and finger-print cards for NM and UT and we can do your fingerprints on-site for you for some states.

This is, by far, our most popular mobile class but we can bring ANY of our classes, handgun, rifle or shotgun to your location. Just call us to make arrangements

All of our instructors are certified, professional and experienced. Our chief instructor is certified by the NM Dept. of Public Safety and the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification. He is a 5-time Distinguished Graduate of the largest firearms training facility in the country in Defensive Handgun, Advanced Handgun, Practical Rifle and Tactical Shotgun and is also an NRA Training Counselor.  Each of our instructors are nationally certified in various disciplines an are graduates of other  well-known schools as well as havingaLOT of personal experience.
